Fun Fact #350
Red Ditch Fishing
Flames soared as London burned during the Great London fire of 1666, yet for many of the survivors this wouldn't be the end of their stories. No, that was just the beginning as many would move to the town of Redditch where they would fish the Arrow River for dinner. Thanks to how crowded it was many of the survivors would encounter new ideas and add them to their own styles of fishing, taking it from a simple String on a stick or net, to adding in Running Hooks (Greater control of the string), Multiplier winches, fly lures, and the creation of the first bait and tackle store in 1730. This would turn the town into a powerhouse of the fishing industry until a man in Bucks County, Kentucky designed a Spinner/fly lure which is still commonly produced today.
