Fun Fact #282 Mr. Morgan
Fun Fact # 282
Mr. Morgan
Born in 1877, Garrett Augustus Morgan grew up listening to his father Sydney and how even though he was at one time a slave to the Infamous John H. Morgan –leader Of Morgan’s Raiders in the civil war– hard work and faith had kept him alive long enough to see freedom. Morgan took this to heart, having great faith, and working hard at all he would do through his life. He started his career by fixing sewing machines and other odd equipment. In time he would even start creating inventions of his own such as The Gas Hood, The Stoplight, and the Self Extinguishing Cigarette. Yet his inventions would be commercial failures until a terrible accident in 1916 created the opportunity for Morgan's Inventions to begin saving lives around the world.
