Bridging Translations
Communication has been an issue in Major League Baseball for a long time especially where foreign players are involved, but the Cubs have a new tactic to work around it.
The Pitchcom is a device pitchers can use to direct Catchers in the outfield without hand signals, with a simple button press. Yet the Chicago Cubs came up with an inventive use for it, as the locations were programmable they put basic requests and commands into the device and use it off the field to communicate with their players who don't speak English very well like Seiya Suzuki. What’s more is those with the receivers can select the language they hear it in, so you could say something in English, person 2 hears it in Spanish and person 3 hears it in Japanese all at the same time. All around a really interesting use for the device.
