Missingno : The Glitch Pokémon
Fun Fact # 327
Missingno
In May of 1999, children playing the first Pokémon games began sharing stories of skeletal Pokémon with piercing cries, battling players. This digital terror was the result from a debugging tool that was accidentally left in the game, and because of its incomplete nature it was made of unused game files resulting in the Frankenstein of a glitch: Missingno. Although it seemed frightening, if caught it would raise the stats of a Pokémon by 128, creating a nearly invulnerable Pokémon and gaining the love of the fanbase who continue to push for it to be adopted as an actual Pokémon to this day.
