 Fun Fact #300

Of Great Gravity

The first logo for apple was made in 1976 to play into the first fictional reason for the name: Sir Isaac Newton. However the gravity of the situation is Sir Newton was never struck by the apple, but rather had been trying to figure out why the Moon had an orbit. He would be so focused upon figuring out this issue that he would starve. This in turn caused him to regularly visit an apple tree to pick apples until one day found an apple had fallen before he could pick it. This would lead him to wonder if what pulled on the apple also pulled the moon and he called this “Gravity”. Though the math would take several more months, that apple helped reshape science as we know it, as well as satisfy a starving Sir Newton.
